Cardiac Telemetry Nurse – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Cardiac Telemetry nurse for a 13-week night shift assignment (19:00–07:00, 4 × 12 hour shifts). Start date: 11/30/2026. Guaranteed 48 hours per week.
About the Unit
You'll work in a cardiac telemetry unit caring for post-cardiac procedural patients and those requiring continuous heart rhythm monitoring. The team includes a Charge Nurse, Unit Secretary, and Patient Care Technicians. The unit maintains a collaborative, family-oriented culture with many travel assignments converting to permanent positions.
Clinical Scope & Procedures
- Read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips
- Manage post-cardiac procedural care: ablations, cardiac catheterizations, post-op day 1 open heart surgery, and permanent pacemaker placements
- Administer and titrate IV cardiac medications (insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, Amiodarone)
- Perform IV insertions, NGT placement/maintenance, chest tube maintenance, temporary pacemaker care, and Foley insertions
Requirements
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Demonstrated cardiac telemetry or PCU/ICU experience
- Ability to work full-time including 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period
- Willingness to float to other units where competency is demonstrated
- Navy blue scrubs (black pants with navy top acceptable)
