Cardiac Telemetry RN — Kansas City, MO

4 x 12 Days | 07:00–19:00 | 13-Week Contract | 48 Hours Guaranteed

This cardiac telemetry unit provides specialized care for patients undergoing and recovering from complex cardiac procedures. The unit supports a high-acuity patient population in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with consistent charge nurse, unit secretary, and PCT support on every shift.

Clinical Scope & Skills Required

  • Prior cardiac telemetry, PCU, or ICU experience required
  • Must be proficient in reading and interpreting EKGs and telemetry strips
  • Post-cardiac procedural care experience required, including: ablations, cardiac catheterizations, post-op Day 1 open heart surgery, and permanent pacemaker placements
  • Must be able to administer and titrate IV cardiac drips (e.g., Cardizem, Cardene, Amiodarone, insulin)
  • Procedures performed on unit: IV insertion, NGT placement and maintenance, chest tube maintenance, temporary pacemaker management, and Foley insertion

Certifications Required

  • ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Schedule & Float Requirements

  • Full-time hours required; 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period
  • Contract nurses may be floated to areas where competency has been demonstrated

  • Dress code: Navy blue scrubs (black scrub pants permitted with navy blue top)
  • Unit uses mobile communication technology for team coordination

  • Start date: November 30, 2026
