Emergency Department RN — Night Shift | Kansas City, MO
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 4 x 12-hour nights
Contract Duration: 13 weeks | Start Date: November 30
Guaranteed Hours: 48 per week
About the Unit
This busy Emergency Department operates across three distinct care areas: a Rapid treatment zone, a Main ED, and a behavioral health–safe room (POD 3). The unit manages a diverse patient population spanning high-acuity medical emergencies, psychiatric presentations, and everything in between.
Clinical Scope & Procedures
- Ventilator and BiPAP management
- Arterial line monitoring
- EKG interpretation
- Chest tube insertion and management
- Port placement
- Rapid fluid resuscitation
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong prioritization and time management in a fast-paced environment
- De-escalation training required; CPI certification preferred
- Team-oriented with a patient-focused mindset
- Current RN licensure (Missouri or compact)
- BLS required; ACLS strongly recommended
Schedule Requirements
- Minimum of 4 weekend shifts and 2 Fridays per 4-week schedule
- 2 major holidays and 2 minor holidays per contract
