Neuro PCU / Acute Care — Night Shift | Nashville, TN

This 13-week contract covers a combined Neuro Acute Care and Neuro Stepdown unit, offering a strong clinical environment for nurses seeking to build toward critical care.

Shift & Schedule

• 4 × 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Weekend shifts required
• Floating available for experienced nurses following orientation

Unit Overview

The unit provides care across two distinct clinical areas:

• Acute Care side: Stroke-focused care with high-flow oxygen, chest tubes, suction, and various IV drips
• Neuro Stepdown side: Higher-acuity patients requiring BiPAP, tracheostomy management, and titration of cardiac drips

Common procedures include lumbar punctures and chest tube placement. The unit is supported by an RN charge nurse, one to two patient care technicians, and a unit secretary.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS required for all staff
• ACLS required for Neuro Stepdown
• Strong acute care nursing skills and time management
• Stepdown experience preferred for Neuro Stepdown placement
• Critical thinking skills essential

Contract Details

• Duration: 13 weeks (91 days)
• Guaranteed hours: 48 per week
• Start date: October 1, 2026

Dress Code

Black, blue (any shade), or grey scrubs; any color permitted on Fridays.
