Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical / Telemetry

Location: Lexington, KY

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: November 2, 2026

About the Role

The facility seeks an experienced RN for its Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit. You'll provide comprehensive care to adult patients with a wide range of medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform continuous cardiac monitoring and vital sign assessment; recognize and respond to rhythm changes and clinical deterioration
• Administer medications and treatments, including cardiac drips, per physician orders
• Manage pre- and post-operative patient care, including wound management and pain control
• Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory diagnoses)
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and interdisciplinary teams on care coordination and discharge planning
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols
• Typical patient assignment: 4–6 patients per shift

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license (state or compact)
• BSN or ADN per facility policy
• BLS and ACLS certification
• Minimum 1+ years of medical-surgical or telemetry nursing experience
• Demonstrated telemetry/EKG interpretation competency

Schedule

Weekends and holidays as needed.
