Surgical Technologist – Operating Room
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the operating room team. You'll function as a key member of the surgical team, providing direct support to surgeons, anesthesia providers, and nursing staff while maintaining the highest standards of sterile technique and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and organize sterile fields, instruments, and supplies prior to surgical procedures
- Pass instruments and supplies to the surgical team while maintaining strict aseptic technique
- Perform accurate counts of instruments, sponges, and needles before, during, and after each case
- Anticipate surgeon needs and procedural requirements throughout the operation
- Monitor the sterile field and address any breaks in technique immediately
- Handle and prepare surgical specimens per facility protocol
- Assist with efficient room turnover and terminal cleaning between cases
- Collaborate with circulating nurses, surgeons, and anesthesia staff to ensure smooth case flow
- Maintain knowledge of surgical instrumentation, equipment, and procedural anatomy across multiple specialties
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
- CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification
- BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year of surgical tech experience
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
Schedule & Details
- Shift: First shift, 4 × 10-hour days (6:45 AM–5:15 PM)
- Contract Duration: 18 weeks
- Start Date: November 2, 2026
- Call responsibilities as assigned
