Pediatric Hematology/Oncology RN — Travel Contract | Des Moines, IA
This 13-week travel nursing opportunity is ideal for experienced Pediatric Hematology/Oncology RNs ready to join a specialized pediatric unit in Des Moines, Iowa.
Shift & Schedule
- Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 36 hours/week
- Every 3rd weekend required
- Holiday rotation: must work 1–2 of the upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day)
- On-call possible during low census: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Clinical Scope
The unit serves a pediatric patient population spanning hematology/oncology, medical-surgical, and a range of other pediatric specialties. Nurses float across general pediatric, NICU, and PICU settings as needed, and must be willing to cover ED inpatient holds.
Requirements
- Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission
- Minimum 24 months of Pediatric and/or Oncology nursing experience
- Pediatric experience within the past 18 months
- Hematology/Oncology experience required
- APHON certification (documentation required)
- BLS (AHA or ARC) required
- PALS (AHA) required
- Must have completed at least one prior travel nursing contract within the past 18 months
- Skills checklist specific to Pediatric/Oncology required
- Professional reference from charge nurse, supervisor, or nurse manager within the past 24 months (preferred)
- Valid driver's license required

- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
