Registered Nurse

Pediatric Emergency Room RN — Travel Contract | Des Moines, IA

This 13-week night shift contract is ideal for an experienced pediatric RN looking to work in a fast-paced pediatric emergency and med/surg environment. The unit manages a diverse pediatric population including hematology/oncology patients, general med/surg cases, and a full range of pediatric specialties.

Schedule

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3x12s (36 hrs/week)
• Every 4th weekend
• Holiday rotation (no call required)

Float Requirements

Nurses may float across the NICU, general pediatric floor, and PICU based on unit need.

Required Qualifications

• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission
• Minimum 24 months of pediatric or pediatric emergency room experience
• At least one completed travel contract within the past 18 months (no first-time travelers)
• BLS (AHA or ARC)
• PALS (AHA)
• TNCC (required, documentation needed)
• ACLS (AHA)

Preferred

• De-escalation certification
• Pediatric ER experience within the past 15 months
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, or nurse manager within the past 24 months

Additional Requirements

• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Skills checklist must be specific to Pediatric/Pediatric Emergency Room
• Driver's license documentation required
