Medical-Surgical RN — Chattanooga, TN
Night Shift | 13-Week Contract
This Med-Surg unit provides care for a diverse patient population with a wide range of complex medical conditions, including respiratory illnesses, renal disease, and GI disorders. The role also involves telemetry monitoring, CVC management, indwelling catheter care, and heparin drip administration. Experience with oncology or general surgery patients is a plus but not required.
Shift & Schedule
- Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 36 guaranteed hours per week (48-hour guarantee available)
- 4 weekend shifts per 28-day scheduling period
- Holiday rotation required
- Floating in rotation with other unit staff
Unit Support
The unit is supported by Clinical Coordinators, Unit Secretaries, Patient Care Technicians, and Case Management — providing a collaborative, team-based environment.
Requirements
- Active RN license
- BLS certification
- Medical-surgical nursing experience, including familiarity with respiratory, renal, and GI conditions, telemetry, CVCs, indwelling catheters, and heparin drips
- Strong teamwork, communication, and critical-thinking skills
