Emergency Department Registered Nurse
Location: Paducah, KY
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Start Date: October 15, 2026
About the Role
The facility's Emergency Department is seeking an experienced RN to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. You'll manage a diverse patient population presenting with emergent and urgent conditions, working collaboratively with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure rapid assessment, intervention, and safe patient transitions.
Key Responsibilities
- and assess incoming patients; prioritize care based on acuity
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for trauma activations, codes, and rapidly deteriorating patients
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per protocols and physician orders
- Monitor patients awaiting admission, transfer, or discharge; maintain patient flow and throughput
- Collaborate with the care team on individualized treatment plans
- Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up care
- Document assessments and interventions accurately in the electronic health record
- Maintain infection control, safety protocols, and de-escalation techniques
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted RN license (state or compact)
- BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS required
- 1+ years of ER experience
- Experience with protocols and high-acuity environments
- ADN or ASN (BSN preferred)
Preferred Certifications
- CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
