Wound Care Specialist – Travel Assignment

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a Wound Care Specialist for a 12-week travel assignment in an outpatient clinic setting. You'll provide comprehensive wound assessment, management, and patient education to adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients, seeing approximately 8 patients per day.

Schedule & Requirements

  • Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (40 hours/week)
  • Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
  • Call: None
  • Float: Within scope of practice and to other outpatient areas as needed
  • Contract Duration: 12 weeks
  • Start Date: October 26, 2026

Required Qualifications

  • Current RN license (Georgia or Compact state)
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience (first-time travelers welcome)
  • BLS certification required
  • WOCN or CWS certification preferred
  • Experience with wound care modalities including negative pressure wound therapy, compression wrapping, debridement techniques, and ostomy management

Clinical Scope

This role covers wound assessment and management across multiple conditions: skin alterations, pressure injuries, surgical wounds, and ostomy care. You'll perform patient and family teaching, infection control measures, and pain management while maintaining compliance with isolation precautions and facility protocols.

Compliance & Onboarding

Full compliance documentation must be submitted before your start date. A non-billable orientation period is included based on contract length. All requests for time off must be finalized at submission; no RTO requests are permitted after offer or during orientation week. Maximum 7 days RTO per contract.
