Medical-Surgical Neuro RN – Night Shift

The Role

Join the facility's neuro unit as a Medical-Surgical Neuro RN. You'll care for patients with neuro surgical procedures and diagnoses on a busy night shift.

Shift & Schedule

  • 3 x 12-hour nights: 18:45 – 07:15
  • Contract duration: 13–26 weeks (36 or 48-hour options accepted)
  • Weekend requirement: 12–16 weekend shifts per contract
  • Float requirement: Yes, within the facility

Required Credentials & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience
  • BLS required
  • ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS preferred
  • Neuro experience preferred; first-time travelers welcome
  • EKG testing required before start

Clinical Skills

You'll manage post-neurosurgical patients, dysrhythmia interpretation, IV protocols (including insulin), telemetry monitoring, surgical drains, wound care, and non-invasive airway management. Isolation precautions and PPE compliance expected.

Unit Environment

Daily census of approximately 36 patients. You'll collaborate with IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams.

Orientation

2 shifts on the unit following hospital-based orientation. Pre-start modules (~8–10 hours, online) required.

Time Off & Flexibility

Up to 7 days RTO auto-approved (excluding holidays). Must work 2 of 3 major holidays. No RTO during the first week. All additional RTO must be pre-approved; no requests permitted after contract signing.
