Mammography Technologist
Position Overview
The facility seeks a Mammography Technologist to manage daily operations in the women's health section of radiology. You will perform diagnostic mammography procedures, maintain quality assurance standards, and ensure all regulatory compliance.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform mammography exams following departmental protocols and manufacturer guidelines
- Conduct daily QA and preventative maintenance scheduling
- Verify exam orders, confirm patient identity via two identifiers, and obtain informed consent
- Maintain accurate records in the EHR, including procedure documentation and charging
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate with service engineers as needed
- Suggest improvements to procedures and policies; assist with staff training
- Manage supply inventory and ordering
- Practice strict radiation safety adherence to ALARA standards
- Assist with other modalities, clerical duties, and patient transportation as assigned
- Maintain FDA compliance and accreditation documentation
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
- ARRT registration in Radiology (R) and Mammography (M)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or obtain within 90 days of hire)
- Preferred: 2+ years experience as a practicing Radiologic Technologist with cross-training in CT, MRI, or DEXA
- Experience with EHR systems, PACS, and RIS/HIS
- Must pass background check and pre-employment drug screening
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
