Radiologic Technologist – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility's imaging department is seeking a Radiologic Technologist for its night shift. You'll perform diagnostic imaging procedures across multiple modalities, prioritize radiation safety, and ensure quality patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate advanced technical knowledge in at least two imaging modalities
- Perform quality control and operate imaging equipment per manufacturer specifications
- Execute exams following departmental protocols in collaboration with radiologists
- Ensure radiation safety compliance and ALARA standards; screen female patients for pregnancy
- Verify exam orders using two identifiers and provide patient education
- Notify radiologists immediately of STAT and emergent cases
- Document medical histories and obtain informed consents as required
- Assist with equipment troubleshooting and coordinate service calls when needed
- Complete all required paperwork and ensure prior studies are available before interpretation
- Support clerical duties and patient transportation as needed
- Assist in training and cross-training fellow imaging technologists
- Maintain supply inventory and ordering
- Demonstrate flexibility with scheduling, on-call duties, holidays, and weekends
Required Qualifications
- Current ARRT registration in at least two modalities (Radiology, CT, MR, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, or Sonography) — or eligibility to obtain within one year of hire
- Current BLS certification (or obtain within 90 days)
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen
- Legal work authorization in the United States
Preferred Experience
- Two or more years as a practicing radiologic technologist
- Proficiency with PACS, RIS/HIS, and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication and independent problem-solving skills
