Travel RN – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) | Thornton, CO
Day Shift | 13-Week Contract | 36 Hours Guaranteed
This PCU assignment offers a dynamic mix of post-operative and cardiac step-down patients in a collaborative, teamwork-driven environment. The unit manages a diverse patient population including elective orthopedic and spine surgery recovery, gynecological post-op care, cath lab procedure recovery (post-PCI, post-pacemaker, ablation, cardioversion, and revascularization), as well as stroke, chest pain, CIWA, renal failure, and respiratory failure patients. Cardiac drips are set-rate; heparin is the only titrating drip.

Unit Culture
The unit is newly built with ADA/Bari-equipped rooms and ceiling lifts. Staff describe a strong culture of collaboration across a wide range of nursing experience levels. Modified self-scheduling is in place, with schedules posted three weeks in advance to allow adequate time for shift trades.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of current hospital PCU experience
- Active BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Cardiac step-down experience
- Prior PCU/telemetry monitoring background
