CVICU Travel RN — Columbia, SC | Day Shift | 13-Week Contract

This cardiovascular intensive care unit manages a complex adult patient population, including post-sternotomy patients following coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repair/replacement, aortic dissection repair, carotid endarterectomy, lobectomy, and other cardiothoracic and vascular procedures. Nurses in this unit care for patients with extensive comorbidities and multi-system complications using advanced hemodynamic support devices.

Shift & Schedule

• Days: 3×12-hour shifts (07:00–19:30)
• Rotating weekend coverage (every other weekend)
• Float to qualified units may be required based on census needs

Clinical Skills Required

• Arterial line, central line, and CVP management
• Pulmonary artery/Swan-Ganz catheter monitoring
• ECMO, IABP, Impella, LVAD/RVAD, and CRRT/CVVHD management
• Ventilator management and ABG interpretation
• Epicardial pacing wire care
• Vasoactive and cardiac drip titration
• Pre/post cardiac cath, TAVR, and post-cardiac surgery care (direct from OR)
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years CVICU experience required
• Travel nursing experience required
• Active RN license; ASN required, BSN preferred
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Prior electronic medical record experience required
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions); COVID-19 vaccine not required
