Medical/Surgical Telemetry RN
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a Medical/Surgical Telemetry RN for a 13-week contract. You'll provide direct patient care in a fast-paced telemetry unit serving patients with a range of medical and surgical diagnoses requiring continuous cardiac monitoring.
Schedule & Flexibility
- 3x12-hour rotating shifts (Day: 07:00–19:30 | Night: 19:00–07:30)
- Shifts may rotate based on operational needs; the facility will make every effort to honor your preferred schedule
- Must work at least every other holiday
- Potential to float to other med/surg units and the Emergency Department to care for similar patient populations
Required Qualifications
- 12 months of permanent, full-time experience in Medical/Surgical Telemetry Nursing
- Active, permanent Ohio nursing license or valid Compact state license (must be in hand at submission)
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- One professional reference from a manager, supervisor, or director in your specialty (from the past 12 months; manager references required—no peer references)
Orientation & Ongoing Requirements
- Orientation includes ECG rhythm recognition testing and SafeMedicate assessment; passing scores on both are mandatory
- You'll have two attempts to pass these assessments
- Annual hands-on competency training required for contracts of 12+ months
What to Expect
This is a collaborative, high-acuity environment where attention to detail and strong clinical judgment are essential. You'll work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
