Position Overview
The facility is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join its ultrasound department on a 13-week contract. This is a Monday–Friday position with no weekend, holiday, or on-call requirements—ideal for those seeking work-life balance.
Schedule & Duration
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
- 40 guaranteed hours per week
- 13-week contract
- No weekends, holidays, or call
Required Qualifications
- ARDMS registration in Ultrasound Technology (required)
- Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technology or Radiology Technology program
- AHA BLS certification (must be obtained within 6 months of hire if not current)
- Previous ultrasound experience preferred, or equivalent experience as assessed by the Department Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Perform ultrasound examinations across all age groups (neonatal through geriatric)
- Ensure diagnostic-quality images by applying appropriate technical factors, gains, transducers, and positioning techniques
- Review physician orders for accuracy and completeness before each exam
- Verify all required measurements, anatomical information, and patient demographics are captured and documented
- Operate ultrasound equipment and image processing systems
- Maintain patient safety and comfort, with particular attention to fall prevention, hearing accommodation, and pediatric security protocols
- Coordinate daily schedules and patient flow to ensure timely exam completion
