Telemetry Registered Nurse — Nights | Grass Valley, CA
13-Week Contract | 36 Hours Guaranteed | Start Date: October 27, 2026
This telemetry unit focuses primarily on cardiac patients with general overflow. Nurses manage stable, non-titrating drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Heparin. The charge RN rounds with an interdisciplinary team, and hospitalist/intensivist coverage is available in-house, along with 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy support.
Shift & Schedule
- 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM; bedside report at shift start
- Every other weekend required; holidays rotate with core staff
- First to float (MedSurg and Telemetry)
- Self-scheduling with manager approval; schedules posted 4 weeks out; OT and extra shifts available
Required Certifications
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips independently
Important Pre-Acceptance Requirement
A Dysrhythmia Exam (Basic) must be completed and submitted prior to acceptance. Candidates have two attempts; failure on the second attempt may result in ineligibility for future assignments within the health system.
Orientation
- Facility-wide orientation held in Sacramento (not on-site at the unit location)
- 1–2 days of floor-specific orientation with a preceptor
Unit Details
- Scrub color: Navy; undershirts must be navy, white, or black; navy scrub jackets optional
- Nurse aides available based on census (typically 1–2)
- Two supervisor references required at submission (one within 12 months, one within 3 years)
- Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
