Emergency Department RN – 12-Hour Shift
About the Role
Join the emergency department for a 6-week contract. You'll work 12-hour shifts with every-other-weekend scheduling and may be called to float as needed.Clinical Environment
Team & Support
A physician is in-house 24/7 with mid-level providers available during peak times. Respiratory therapy handles ABGs and breathing treatments; you'll read and interpret your own EKGs. Two patient care technicians support each shift. A charge nurse (generally patient-free) oversees the unit. Phlebotomy draws labs. Imaging (X-ray and CT) is on-site with transport assistance available.
Requirements
- RN license
- Minimum 2 years of emergency nursing experience (first-time travelers considered)
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
- Advanced Dysrhythmia certification (83% passing score; three attempts allowed)
Practical Details
- Orientation: 1–3 shifts with preceptor
- Navy scrubs required (navy undershirts; jackets optional but must be navy)
- Call-outs strongly discouraged
- No on-call requirement
- Matrix scheduling to accommodate your needs
- 48-hour weekly guarantee (36-hour option available)
