Registered Respiratory Therapist – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility seeks an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week contract position. You'll provide comprehensive respiratory care services to adult and geriatric patients across the facility, working independently and collaboratively as needed.
Shift & Schedule
- Night shift: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
- 3 × 12-hour shifts per week
- 36 guaranteed hours
Clinical Scope
You will manage the full spectrum of respiratory care, including:
- Administering aerosol and oxygen therapy
- Drawing and analyzing arterial blood gases
- Providing mechanical ventilation management
- Attending deliveries and providing newborn resuscitation (no on-site NICU)
- Assisting with drainage procedures
- Assessing therapy appropriateness and documenting patient progress
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program
- Current NBRC-RRT or NBRC-CRT credential
- Current RCP license (state-specific)
- Minimum 2 years recent respiratory therapy experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications (required at hire or within 90 days)
- Proficiency with adult ventilator management and ABG procedures
- Newborn resuscitation experience is essential
Additional Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records and documentation
- Participate in staff training and mentoring
- Support department operations and quality initiatives
