Cardiac Telemetry RN — Independence, Missouri
This 13-week travel contract places you on a busy cardiac telemetry unit, managing a diverse cardiac and neurological patient population in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Shift & Schedule
- 4 x 12-hour day shifts (07:00–19:00)
- 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (Saturday/Sunday for days)
- 48 hours guaranteed
Clinical Scope
The unit cares for patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring, including post-cardiac catheterization recovery (no sheath removal), pacemaker placement patients, stroke patients, and those on vasoactive and antiarrhythmic drips such as amiodarone and Cardizem.
Required Skills & Certifications
- Active ACLS certification
- Experience with post-cath recovery, pacemaker patients, stroke care, and drip management (amiodarone, Cardizem)
Preferred Skills
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Float Requirements
Travel nurses may be floated to other telemetry departments, med-surg, or PCU as needed.
