ICU Registered Nurse — Night Shift | Bakersfield, CA
This 13-week contract places you in an ICU managing high-acuity cardiac and critical care patients. The position runs nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, with 36–48 hours per week guaranteed.
Unit & Clinical Scope
The ICU cares for complex, critically ill patients requiring advanced hemodynamic monitoring and mechanical cardiac support. Nurses are expected to manage Impella devices and intra-aortic balloon pumps independently. Core responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, multidisciplinary collaboration, patient and family education, and discharge coordination. You will supervise and delegate to supporting nursing staff using critical thinking and independent clinical judgment.

Required Certifications & Licensure
- Active RN license (California or compact)
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA or ARC)
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care / ICU experience
- Hands-on Impella experience
- Intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) experience
- BSN preferred
