Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) – Night Shift Registered Nurse

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced RN for its Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit on the night shift. You'll provide direct patient care in a fast-paced critical care environment, managing post-operative cardiac patients and those with acute cardiac conditions.

Shift & Schedule

• Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• 3 shifts per week (12-hour shifts)
• 13-week contract
• Expect to work every other holiday

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months of permanent, full-time CVICU experience
• Active RN license (Ohio or compact state license required at time of application)
• Current AHA or American Red Cross certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• One professional reference from a manager, ANM, or supervisor in CVICU (from past 12 months; no peer references)

Pre-Employment & Orientation

• Background check and BCI/FBI clearance (must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing)
• Drug screening (10-panel)
• During orientation, you'll complete an ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment; both must be passed (up to 2 attempts allowed)
• Pre-start and annual competency modules (6–15 hours depending on specialty)

Compliance Notes

• COVID-19 and flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions available)
• No open background cases accepted; no license hits

Contract Terms

Extensions available up to 18 months; a 6-month break follows (deferral possible on case-by-case basis).
