Emergency Department Nurse – 13-Week Travel Assignment
Position Overview
The facility's Emergency Department is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week travel assignment. You'll work mid shifts (3:00 PM – 3:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week) in a high-volume trauma and emergency care environment serving patients across all age groups, from neonates to geriatrics.
Clinical Scope
You'll manage acute trauma patients, interpret and treat dysrhythmias, administer blood products, manage IV vasopressors, and provide care for ventilated patients. New travelers do not assume trauma cases initially; orientation and competency assessment occur first.
Requirements
- Valid California RN license
- Minimum 2 years emergency or trauma nursing experience (18 months acceptable if from a similar facility)
- ACLS, BLS, CPI, and PALS certifications required
- NIHSS and TNCC certifications preferred
- Willingness to work intermittent weekend coverage and 2 of 3 major holidays
- No on-call requirement
- Hospital float capability as needed
Schedule & Logistics
- 3x12-hour mid shifts per week (3:00 PM – 3:30 AM)
- 36-hour orientation
- Intermittent weekend coverage; no on-call
- RTO requires facility approval
- First-time travelers welcome
Support Team
Full interdisciplinary collaboration: respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, pharmacy, social work, and unit secretaries.
