PACU Nurse – 13-Week Travel Assignment
About the Role
The facility seeks an experienced PACU nurse for a 13-week assignment in a high-acuity post-operative recovery setting. You'll provide direct patient care across multiple surgical specialties in a fast-paced environment serving adults, pediatrics, adolescents, and geriatric patients.
Schedule & Location
- Shift: Day shifts, 3 × 12-hour (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Location: Philadelphia, PA area
- Call Requirements: 2 on-call shifts Monday–Friday plus 1 weekend on-call shift per 6-week rotation; 1 summer and 1 winter holiday on-call shift
- Float Requirement: Possible float to GI or pain management areas as needed
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license (valid state)
- 2+ years critical care or PACU experience
- Level I Trauma background required
- Certifications: TNCC, ACLS, PALS (current)
- Travel nursing experience preferred
- Valid references and certification copies required at submission
Preferred Experience
- SICU, MICU, or CTICU background
Clinical Scope
You'll manage post-operative patients recovering from diverse procedures including:
- Craniotomies and neurosurgery
- Organ transplants (liver, kidney)
- Vascular and cardiac procedures (including afib ablation)
- General, urological, GYN, and orthopedic surgery
- Interventional radiology procedures
- Trauma cases
Essential Skills Include
End-tidal CO₂ monitoring, central line management, arterial lines, intubation/extubation, airway assessment, ventilator care, medication reconciliation, pain management, dysrhythmia recognition, and post-operative discharge planning.
