NICU RN – Travel Contract | Santa Rosa, CA

Shift: 4x12-Hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Contract Duration: 26 weeks | Start Date: ASAP

Guaranteed Hours: 48 per week

About the Unit

This Level III NICU cares for neonates 27 weeks gestational age and above. The unit supports all gestational ages at delivery for stabilization and transfer when indicated. NICU nurses are expected to attend high-risk, preterm, and meconium deliveries and perform neonatal resuscitation in the OR and at bedside. Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory therapy, pharmacy, social services, and interpretation services.

Clinical Skills Required

• Neonatal resuscitation; APGAR scoring
• Respiratory management: bubble CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, surfactant administration
• UAC/UVC placement and management; arterial line and chest tube management
• Gavage, bottle, and breastfeeding support; NG/NJ tube placement
• Hyperbilirubinemia/phototherapy; thermoregulation
• Sepsis workup; neonatal dosage calculations; blood glucose monitoring
• Blood and blood product administration; phlebotomy; IV initiation and maintenance

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of NICU experience; Level III required
• Active RN license (compact license must be in hand at submission)
• Certifications: BLS, NRP
• On-call and weekend shifts required
• Float to nearby sister facilities may be required
• All RTO must be submitted at time of application; post-offer requests may not be granted
• Must commit to 3 of 5 designated holidays
