Stepdown / Intermediate Care Unit RN — Morgantown, WV

13-Week Contract | Days | 3x12 (07:00–19:00)

This step-down/intermediate care unit manages a predominantly cardiac patient population, including patients recovering from cardiac surgery and interventional cardiology procedures, alongside general medical-surgical cases. Acuity varies and may reach progressive care or telemetry-level complexity.

Shift & Schedule

• Three 12-hour day shifts per week (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Weekdays with some weekend coverage required
• Weekend block schedules considered (Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon)
• Holiday RTO limited to no more than 2 of the 4 major holidays

Contract Details

• Start: ASAP | Duration: 13 weeks | Extension possible
• Orientation: 8 hours, held every other Monday

Required Certifications

• BLS and ACLS (AHA-issued)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years RN experience overall
• At least 1 year in Med/Surg or Telemetry
• At least 2 years in a Stepdown or intermediate care setting
• Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms is essential

Key Clinical Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• IV insertion and peripheral/central line management
• Cardiac drip management and titration (vasoactive and insulin drips)
• BiPAP/CPAP, non-invasive airway management
• Pre/post cardiac cath and cardiac surgery care
• Heparin protocols, blood product administration, ABG interpretation
• Wound care, tracheostomy care, chest tube management

Additional Requirements

• WV or Compact RN license required (pending accepted at submission)
• Permanent address must be 100+ miles from the facility
• Scrubs: burgundy and/or white (not provided)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
