Medical-Surgical / Telemetry — Travel RN

Sayre, PA | Days | 13-Week Contract

This Medical-Surgical unit cares for a diverse patient population including general medical/surgical, orthopedic, and bariatric surgery patients. The unit operates as a primary hospitalist service with centralized telemetry monitoring, requiring nurses to independently recognize and manage dysrhythmias.

Shift & Schedule

• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend required
• Float within scope as needed; no on-call required
• No block scheduling; RTO of 5 days or fewer preferred

Patient Care

• Clinical scope includes telemetry monitoring, cardiac drip management, blood product administration, central and PICC line care, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, heparin protocols, and isolation precautions
• Additional exposure may include pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac and neurosurgery, orthopedic trauma, tracheostomy care, and seizure management

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of Med-Surg experience
• Active RN license required — no pending licenses accepted
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• NIHSS and TCAR certifications a plus
• Non-local candidates only (50-mile radius restriction applies)
• Approximately 4 hours of non-billable online modules to be completed prior to start
• COVID-19 vaccine required (medical exemptions only); flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)

This is a strong fit for a well-rounded Med-Surg nurse comfortable with telemetry and a varied surgical patient population.
