Medical-Surgical Telemetry Float Nurse — Night Shift | Sayre, PA
This is a float position supporting adult and geriatric Medical-Surgical Telemetry patients on a night shift schedule. Clinicians should be comfortable adapting to varying unit needs and patient populations across the telemetry service.
Shift & Schedule
- Nights, 3×12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call required; block scheduling not available
- 13-week contract
Patient Population & Clinical Scope
The unit manages adults and geriatric patients with a broad telemetry and medical-surgical acuity. Clinical skills utilized include:
- Cardiac telemetry monitoring (unit and remote), dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Heparin protocols, cardiac drip management
- BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula management
- Central line, PICC line, and peripheral IV care
- Blood product administration, isolation precautions
- Pre/post care for cardiac catheterization, cardiac surgery, and neurosurgery
- CVA, seizure disorders, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury management
- Tracheostomy care, ER holding, and use of rapid response/code teams
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- BLS required; ACLS preferred
- Active, unencumbered RN license in hand at time of submission (no pending licenses)
- COVID-19 vaccine required (medical exemptions only); flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible
- Approximately 4 hours of non-billable pre-start modules required
