Emergency Room | Travel RN — Latrobe, PA

This combined adult/pediatric Emergency Department manages a high-volume, high-acuity patient population across all age groups — from neonates to geriatrics. The unit operates as a stroke-certified, chest pain referral, and adolescent psychiatric facility, requiring nurses who are comfortable with a broad range of emergency presentations and procedures.

Shift & Schedule

  • Rotating 3x12-hour shifts (days 07:00–19:30 / nights 19:00–07:30)
  • Weekend coverage required
  • Float within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius may be required

Contract Details

  • Duration: 17 weeks
  • Start: October 2026
  • Non-local travelers only (50-mile radius rule enforced)

Required Certifications *(AHA only)*

  • ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS, PALS

Licensure

  • Active Pennsylvania or Compact RN license required at submission

Clinical Skills & Scope

  • , procedural sedation, chest tube insertion/management
  • Ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation and paralytics
  • Management of dysrhythmias, CVA/stroke, seizures, multisystem organ dysfunction
  • Blood product administration, 12-lead EKG acquisition
  • Behavioral health emergencies including psychiatric holds, suicidal patients, and managing violent behavior
  • Pediatric and neonatal emergency care

Minimum Requirements

  • 1 year of ED experience required
  • Comfort with 4–5 patient ratios
  • Charting experience preferred

Vaccination Requirements

  • Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
  • COVID-19 vaccine not required

Two supervisor references preferred. Candidates must be available to work every other holiday. Former permanent employees of the facility are not eligible.
