Pediatric RN — Travel Contract | Lubbock, TX

This 16-week day-shift contract is open to first-time travelers and places you on a pediatric med-surg unit caring for infants, children, and adolescents. The unit manages a range of general pediatric diagnoses and provides interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams.

Shift & Schedule

• Days, 3×12-hour shifts (07:00–19:00)
• Weekends required: 5 shifts per 6-week period
• On-call required based on unit census
• Holiday commitment: must work 3 of 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Block scheduling not required

Float & Coverage

• Floating between units is required; travelers may also be asked to float to nearby sister facilities — refusal may result in termination or forfeiture of guaranteed hours

Clinical Skills — Required/Preferred

• BiPAP/CPAP management
• Central line and implanted line care
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Hyperbilirubinemia management
• Feedings: bottle, breast, and gavage
• Breastfeeding support and breast milk handling
• Oxygen delivery systems
• Isolation precautions/PPE

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience (pediatric experience preferred)
• Active BLS and PALS certifications
• Valid compact RN license in hand at time of submission
• 2 professional references covering the past 3 years
• Scrub color: Navy (RNs)
• 12-hour orientation provided
• All RTO requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer requests may not be accommodated
