Pediatric RN – Medical-Surgical Unit
Position Overview
Join a pediatric medical-surgical unit serving infants, children, and adolescents. This is an excellent opportunity for nurses with 1+ year of experience—first-time travelers welcome.
Shift & Schedule
- Days: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Contract Duration: 16 weeks
- Start Date: November 16, 2026
- Weekend Commitment: 5 shifts per 6-week period
- On-Call: Yes, based on unit census
- Float Requirement: Yes, within scope; may include nearby facilities
Clinical Scope
You'll care for a diverse pediatric population with daily census around 27 patients. Experience managing:
- BiPAP/CPAP and oxygen delivery systems
- Central lines and implanted line care
- Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Feeding support (bottle, breast, gavage)
- Hyperbilirubinemia and isolation precautions
- Breastfeeding support
Staffing & Support
- Interdisciplinary Team: Physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response, and unit secretaries
Requirements
- Current RN license (compact license preferred)
- BLS and PALS certification
- Minimum 1 year nursing experience
- Pediatric experience preferred
- 2 professional references covering the last 3 years
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- All time-off requests must be submitted upfront during application
