NICU RN – Night Shift | Lubbock, TX | 13-Week Contract
A pediatric facility in Lubbock, TX is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a 13-week night shift contract, with the possibility of extension for candidates who prefer a longer assignment.
Shift & Schedule
- Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3x12-hour shifts
- Self-scheduling; 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period
- No on-call required
- Block scheduling required
- Holiday commitment: must work 3 of 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
Unit Overview
The NICU cares for neonatal patients across a broad acuity range, including premature infants, respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, sepsis, HIE (hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy), and surgical subspecialty cases (excluding cardiac). Floating to pediatric/PICU/pedi ED on a PRN basis may be required.
Clinical Skills Required
- Ventilator management, high-frequency ventilation, nitric oxide therapy, bubble CPAP, HFNC
- UAC/UVC management, arterial line and central line care
- Therapeutic hypothermia, ICP monitoring, invasive hemodynamic monitoring
- Neonatal abstinence syndrome, NEC, meconium aspiration, seizure management
- Feedings (gavage, bottle, breast), phototherapy, sepsis workup
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of NICU experience; Level III experience strongly preferred
- Active BLS and NRP Advanced certifications
- Compact RN license in hand at time of submission
- 2 professional references covering at least 1 year within the past 3 years
