NICU RN — Night Shift | Lubbock, TX | 13-Week Contract

A children's hospital in Lubbock, TX is seeking an experienced NICU Registered Nurse for a night shift travel assignment. The unit cares exclusively for neonates across a high-acuity patient population, including premature infants, surgical cases spanning multiple subspecialties, respiratory distress, sepsis, hypoglycemia, and HIE.

Shift & Schedule

  • Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 3x12-hour shifts
  • 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period; self-scheduling
  • Block scheduling required
  • On-call not required
  • Float to sister facilities may be required on a PRN basis

Clinical Scope

The unit manages complex neonatal cases requiring proficiency in:

  • High-frequency and conventional ventilator management
  • Bubble CPAP, HFNC, and nitric oxide therapy
  • UAC/UVC and central line management
  • Therapeutic hypothermia (cooling)
  • Arterial line and invasive hemodynamic monitoring
  • IV vasopressors and neonatal dosage calculations
  • Surgical post-op care, NEC, neonatal abstinence syndrome, and seizure management

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of NICU experience; Level III or IV experience strongly preferred
  • Active certifications: BLS, NRP Advanced
  • Valid compact RN license in hand at time of submission
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
