Medical-Surgical / Telemetry RN — Travel Contract
Lubbock, TX | Days 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 13 Weeks
The role involves active telemetry monitoring on the unit and requires confident management of a broad medical-surgical caseload. Travelers must be prepared to float to other acute care departments within the facility.
Schedule & Shift Details
- Day shift: 3×12-hour shifts (07:00–19:00)
- Every other weekend required (6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)
- Holiday commitment: must work 3 of 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- No on-call required
Required Certifications
- ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
Required Clinical Skills
- Telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management
- Blood product administration, heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols
- Central line and PICC line care, peripheral IV insertion and maintenance
- High-flow nasal cannula, PCA management
- Wound care/wound vac, feeding tube management, phlebotomy
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience; prior travel contract experience required
- Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
- Must live more than 50 miles from the facility
- 40-hour orientation
Additional Details
- Scrubs: solid navy blue
- Float expectation: up to 6 other acute care units, including possible sister facilities nearby
- All RTO requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer requests may not be approved
