Emergency Department RN — Night Shift | Asheville, NC
This is a 16-week travel contract in a high-volume, fast-paced Emergency Department. The night shift runs 18:45–07:15, with every-other-weekend scheduling required. No block scheduling. Start date: October 19, 2026.
Unit Overview
The ED manages a broad acuity range, from medical emergencies and high-complexity trauma cases to behavioral health holds. The department serves a richly multicultural community and is known for its strong teamwork culture and welcoming staff.
Float Requirements
No floating outside the ED; however, candidates must be comfortable rotating across all internal sections of the department, including , cardiac monitoring, and internal processing.
Required Certifications (must be current prior to submission)
- ACLS
- BLS
- PALS
- TNCC
- NIHSS
- ENPC
- CPI (required by date of hire)
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years as an RN, with at least 1 year in an ED setting
- Experience in a high-volume emergency environment strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work across all areas of a busy ED
- Teamwork-focused mindset with ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
Patient Care Expectations
Candidates should be comfortable with AIDET communication principles, maintaining patient experience standards, and keeping patient information boards updated throughout each visit.
