Physical Therapist
Position Overview
The facility's Physical Therapy Department is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to lead and direct clinical services. You'll work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, on a 9-week contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct physical therapy operations and supervise department staff
- Assess and treat patients across all age groups—neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, geriatrics, and general populations
- Administer physical therapy modalities as prescribed by referring physicians
- Develop individualized treatment plans and involve patients and families in care planning
- Participate in continuous quality improvement and performance improvement activities
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and patient records
- Manage department budget, charges, and operational efficiency
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, infection control protocols, and safety requirements
- Train nursing and hospital staff on physical therapy procedures and best practices
- Collaborate with physicians and interdepartmental teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Respond calmly and professionally during crisis situations
Required Qualifications
- Current California licensure as a Physical Therapist
- 3 or more years of physical therapy experience preferred
- Current BCLS certification
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, disease processes, and rehabilitation medicine
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and maintain professional composure under stress
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications and standard office equipment
