Operating Room RN – Louisville, KY
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Operating Room. You'll provide circulating and/or scrub nursing support across a variety of general surgical procedures, including general surgery, orthopedic, gynecology, urology, and ENT cases.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform pre-operative assessments, verify surgical site, consent, and procedure per protocol
- Prepare and maintain sterile field, instruments, and equipment
- Conduct accurate instrument, sponge, and needle counts before, during, and after procedures
- Monitor patient status and safety throughout surgical cases
- Manage supplies, equipment, and instrumentation to ensure availability and proper function
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the surgical team to ensure smooth case flow
- Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and post-operative handoff to PACU
- Document intraoperative care accurately, including counts, medications, and patient status
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in Kentucky (or compact license as applicable)
- ADN or BSN (BSN preferred)
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Minimum 1+ year of general OR experience
- Ability to function in both circulating and scrub roles across multiple surgical specialties
Preferred Qualifications
- CNOR certification
Assignment Details
- Schedule: 4 x 10-hour days (6:30 AM–5:00 PM)
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: October 25, 2026
