Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) – Registered Nurse

Lexington, KY | Nights | 13-Week Contract

This travel RN opportunity is in a cardiovascular intensive care unit managing complex, critically ill patients including post-operative open heart surgery recoveries. The unit demands strong critical care assessment skills, sound clinical judgment, and comfort with high-acuity hemodynamic management.

Shift & Schedule

• 3x12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Weekends and holidays required

Clinical Scope

• Recovery and ongoing management of open heart and cardiac surgery patients
• Hemodynamic monitoring, arterial lines, and central line management
• Titration of vasoactive drips and sedation infusions
• Ventilator management and advanced airway support
• Rapid response and code participation
• Interdisciplinary collaboration with intensivists and the broader care team
• Patient and family education throughout the care continuum

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license (state or applicable compact)
• ADN/ASN required; BSN preferred
• BLS required; ACLS required
• CVICU experience required, including open heart recovery
• 1+ years of ICU/critical care experience

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN
• CCRN certification
