Interventional Radiology & Catheterization Lab Technologist
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced IR and catheterization lab technologist for a 13-week contract. You'll work 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) on an every-other-weekend rotation with a 30-minute call response requirement for one weeknight per week.
Clinical Scope
This is a high-volume unit performing 15–20 cases per day across four suite/labs. You'll manage coronary interventions, STEMI cases, and advanced procedures including laser atherectomy, rotablator, IVUS, Impella, intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP), fractional flow reserve (FFR), and angiojet thrombectomy. The facility is a STEMI-receiving center, so comfort with critically ill and hemodynamically unstable patients is essential.
Required Qualifications
- ARRT certification with fluoroscopy endorsement
- BLS certification
- Demonstrated experience with coronary and peripheral circulation procedures
- Hands-on experience with Impella and balloon pump support devices
- Ability to work independently and respond to emergencies within 30 minutes
Unit Support
Charge nurse coverage during day shift; circulating nurse assumes charge duties evenings. Respiratory therapy and pharmacy are on-site 24/7. Cardiologists are present or on standby around the clock. Orientation is 1–2 days.
Additional Information
Scrubs provided (teal blue). The hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment. All required training modules must be completed before your start date.
