Medical Laboratory Technician – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Technician for a 13-week contract in the clinical laboratory. This is a night shift position (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) working Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex and specialized laboratory tests with high proficiency, particularly in blood bank operations
- Prepare, screen, and analyze patient specimens for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes
- Interpret and correlate clinical lab results following departmental protocols to support physician diagnosis and treatment
- Execute quality control procedures and monitor quality assurance programs
- Communicate technical findings to medical staff and other healthcare personnel
- Maintain safe laboratory techniques and promote cost-effective testing practices
- Work independently while collaborating effectively with the laboratory team
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of current MLT, MT, or MLS experience
- At least 3 months of prior travel healthcare experience (non-negotiable)
- Current ASCP, AMT, or AAB certification (NCCT or NHA not accepted)
- High proficiency in phlebotomy
- Hands-on experience in hematology, chemistry, coagulation, microbiology, and blood bank
- Bachelor's degree
- Active American Heart Association BLS certification
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Assignment Details
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Start date: October 26, 2026
- Weekend and holiday coverage required (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
- Maximum 5 days of requested time off permitted; all scheduling requests must be submitted at application
