General Surgery Nursing – Night Shift
Position Overview
Provide direct nursing care on a general surgical unit serving adult patients. You'll implement and monitor individualized care plans, communicate patient conditions to the healthcare team, coordinate discharge planning, and execute physician and nursing orders with precision.
Clinical Environment
The unit manages post-operative and general surgical patients with telemetry monitoring capability. You'll work in a fast-paced environment that requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to manage your workload with minimal supervision. Support staff including Patient Care Technicians, Healthcare Unit Coordinators, and monitor technicians are available to assist with patient care.
Schedule & Commitment
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Hours: 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Weekend Expectations: Up to 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling period
- Holiday Flexibility: Available as departmental needs arise
Requirements
- Current RN license (verification required)
- Completion of onboarding competency exams (pharmacology, medical-surgical nursing, core competencies)
- Required health screenings and immunizations per facility policy
- Professional references and background clearance
