Registered Nurse – Emergency Department
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its Emergency Department. You will provide rapid, comprehensive care to patients presenting with emergent and urgent conditions in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Working as part of an interdisciplinary team, you'll assess, , and manage diverse patient populations while maintaining clinical excellence and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities
- and assess incoming patients to determine acuity and prioritize care
- Provide nursing interventions for trauma activations, codes, and rapid patient deterioration
- Administer medications, treatments, and manage care per physician orders and protocols
- Monitor patients awaiting admission, transfer, or discharge
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists on patient care plans
- Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up care
- Document assessments and interventions accurately in the electronic health record
- Maintain patient flow and throughput in a high-volume setting
- Uphold infection control, safety, and de-escalation protocols
Requirements
- Active RN license (Kentucky or compact license)
- Minimum 1 year of emergency department experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse)
