Registered Nurse – Emergency Department
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. You'll work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment providing direct patient care, , and emergency interventions across a broad range of urgent and emergent conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- and assess incoming patients to determine acuity and prioritize care
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with emergent and urgent conditions
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per physician orders and protocols
- Respond to trauma activations, codes, and rapid patient deterioration
- Monitor and manage patients awaiting admission, transfer, or discharge
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary team members on plan of care
- Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up care
- Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient response
- Ensure patient flow and throughput in a high-volume environment
- Follow infection control, safety, and de-escalation protocols
Requirements
- Active RN license in Kentucky (or compact license as applicable)
- 1+ years of emergency department experience required
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) or CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse) preferred
- Experience with protocols and high-acuity, fast-paced environments
