Registered Nurse – Cardiac Catheterization Lab

Position Overview

The facility seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for its cardiac catheterization lab. You'll provide direct patient care and monitoring during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures in a fast-paced, specialized environment.

Clinical Scope

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor vital signs and hemodynamic status; alert the team to clinical changes
• Administer medications, sedation, and contrast media per protocol
• Prepare and educate patients pre-procedure; provide recovery care and discharge instructions
• Manage vascular access sites (groin and radial sheaths) including hemostasis
• Respond to emergent complications (arrhythmias, hemorrhage, vasovagal reactions)
• Assist physicians during procedures in circulating and monitoring roles
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient response accurately
• Collaborate with cardiologists, cath lab technicians, and the interdisciplinary team

Requirements

• Current RN license (Kentucky or compact license)
• Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree minimum
• BLS and ACLS certification
• 2+ years of acute care RN experience with cath lab specialty
• 2+ years experience with the facility's charting system
• Ability to respond to on-call emergencies

Schedule

• 4 × 10-hour day shifts (0700–1730)
• Call coverage: every 4th weekend plus 4–5 additional week night shifts within each 4-week cycle
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 25, 2026
