Registered Nurse – ICU

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Duration: 13 weeks

Location: Louisville, KY

About the Role

The facility's intensive care unit is seeking an experienced RN to provide direct, comprehensive care to critically ill patients requiring intensive monitoring and advanced life support. You'll work in a fast-paced environment managing high-acuity patients, collaborating closely with intensivists and interdisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient condition, escalating care as appropriate
• Manage advanced life support equipment including ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, and hemodynamic monitors
• Administer medications, including titratable vasoactive and sedation drips, per physician orders
• Perform rapid response and code interventions as needed
• Collaborate with physicians and the care team on plan of care development and modifications
• Educate patients and families on condition, treatment, and care needs
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately
• Maintain infection control and safety protocols
• Mentor and support team members

Requirements

• Current RN license in Kentucky (or compact license)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of acute care/ICU experience
• 2 years of experience with the facility's clinical documentation system
• Experience managing critical care equipment and titratable drips
• ADN or BSN
• CCRN certification preferred

This is a hands-on role with moderate to high patient acuity. Weekend and holiday rotation expected per unit needs.
