Emergency Department Registered Nurse
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Contract Duration: 13 weeks (36 guaranteed hours)
Location: Austin, TX
About the Role
Join the emergency department as a Registered Nurse providing direct patient care in a high-volume, fast-paced setting. You'll implement and monitor patient care plans, communicate patient conditions to the healthcare team, coordinate multidisciplinary care, and execute physician and nursing orders. You'll assess discharge planning needs and work collaboratively with nursing, support staff, and clinical teams.
What You'll Do
- Deliver direct nursing care using critical thinking and decisive judgment
- Monitor, document, and communicate patient status in real time
- Serve as the primary care coordinator across multiple disciplines
- Work with minimal supervision in a dynamic, sometimes stressful environment
- Follow Standard Precautions and utilize personal protective equipment as required
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse license from the Texas Board of Nursing (required before hire)
- BLS Provider certification within 1 month of start date
- Advanced Life Support certification within 6 months of start date
- Additional certifications encouraged: Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support
