Emergency Department Registered Nurse

Position Overview

The facility seeks an experienced RN for its emergency department. You'll provide direct patient care in a high-volume setting, implementing and monitoring care plans, assessing patient conditions, coordinating with interdisciplinary teams, and communicating clinical updates to physicians and nursing staff. You'll work with critical thinking and decisive judgment in a fast-paced, often stressful environment.

Shift & Duration

  • Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Contract: 13 weeks
  • Hours: 36 guaranteed hours per week
  • Start Date: October 25, 2026

Required Credentials

  • Current RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing (must be obtained prior to hire)
  • BLS Provider certification (within 1 month of start)
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification (within 6 months of start)
  • PALS and ACLS certifications as required by facility policy (specific timelines per certification type)

Unit Overview

You'll work in a busy emergency department managing a diverse patient population with varying acuities. The team includes nursing staff, support personnel, and residents. The environment involves holding and boarding of inpatient admissions. Standard precautions and appropriate personal protective equipment are required at all times.
