Emergency Department Registered Nurse
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a Registered Nurse for its emergency department. You will provide direct nursing care to patients presenting with acute and critical conditions, implementing and monitoring individualized care plans while coordinating care across multiple disciplines.
Shift & Schedule
- Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
- Start Date: October 25, 2026
Clinical Scope
The emergency department is a high-volume setting treating diverse patient populations ranging from minor injuries to critical trauma cases. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing patient conditions and implementing nursing care plans
- Monitoring, recording, and communicating patient status to the healthcare team
- Coordinating care across nursing, physician, and ancillary staff
- Executing physician and nursing orders
- Managing discharge planning in collaboration with the care team
- Performing in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment requiring critical thinking and decisive judgment
Uniform & Environment
Navy scrubs required. Standard Precautions and appropriate personal protective equipment are essential.
Required Credentials & Certifications
- Registered Nurse license from the Texas Board of Nursing (required prior to hire)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 1 month of hire
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification within 6 months of hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) as specified
